The YHM Quadrail handguards for a CAR I'm looking at are freefloating.   I want to attach a Harris Bi-pod.  Will I encounter any problems using a Bi-pod with these handguards.  For some reason I'm thinking that the freefloat handguards won't be strong enough for use with the Bi-pod.

I know you can purchase a barrel forearm support...is this really necessary?

Thanks

There is no 'barrel forarms support'.  That is merely a protective cap - the hole in the middle allows the barrel to free float, but it does not interfer with the barrel (at least mine didn't).

The YHM handguards are built very strong - you have no worries about mounting a bipod to it.

You're thinking wrong.  They are made specifically for supporting bipods and such.

that's what I thought. Isn't it so the barrel doesn't flex when you put pressure on it?

Exactly.  Pressure from slings, pressure from bipods, pressure from...
