| I'm thinking about getting a non FF fore arm. I have heard good things about the M73; however, I haven't heard about the weight. Anybody know how much it weighs? Thanks |
| I just looked through the little instruction paper they give you with an M73 and there is no info on weight. I'm sure if you call Surefire they can tell you (800) 828-8809 Customer service. I don't think they are much heavier than regular plastic metal lined ones. |

+1 Mine was lighter than my KAC RAS, & Arms SIR. Two minutes or less to attach. I used blue Loctite on the threads. They are rock solid when properly attached. The top rail is designed to sit lower than the upper receiver rail, so that you could mount AN/PEQ-2s and have a clear view thru. KAC panels (11 rib) work, but the clip needs to be attached towards the receiver, due to the attachment set up of the screws. Same for TD covers, although you will need to relieve/cut a small portion of the inside rail to clear the screws. The covers are far superior (heat) to the ladders that are supplied for any extended social events. I'm surprised that no-one has said, "I went with a YHM...." Oops, guess I did. |
| Howdy folks. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. I have a Troy MRF-C on one upper, which I really like, and I am trying to save a little on my second upper setup. Robert, thanks for pulling out the postal scales. One thing I like about the Troy is it's not as large in diameter as the YHM. I had a YMH and found with the TD rail covers it was quite a handful. How is the M73 in cross section. Thanks |
