I've read that pretty much every manufacturer of AR's advises or warns against using steel cased ammo (Wolf in particular). I get the idea that steel on steel isn't ideal..mainly for the odd grain of sand or other foreign material that may find it's way into the chamber during use..and then have it ground between two pieces of steel (chamber and case) potentially causing damage to chamber. Not to mention the laquer melting into the chambers on the early production Wolf stuff. If a softer metal is used such as brass.... ..the case gets the damage rather than the chamber. Here's my question...some of the Wolf stuff is brass plated or nickel plated now (Wolf Gold and Silver Bear). How will the use of this ammo affect the chambers in the AR's since they now have a softer metal plating? Thanks for any responses. |
