Sorry in advance if these are dumb questions but I am somewhat of a newbie.

I have and Colt SP1 A1 with a number starting 107.  I think it is a large hole.  What are my options for possibly putting a flat top upper or an A2 upper on it?  Is there an adapter so I can use a small hole upper?

Thanks

Yes, there are adapter pins so that you can use a small hole upper on your large hole lower.  They are available from several manufacturers.  If you need some specific sources I can post some links for you.

Yup, there are adapter screws that will allow you to do just what you want.  I have one on mine.  They're available from several places.  Bushmaster is one that comes to mind off the top of my head, but there's plenty more.

It's still a screw, and sometimes you have to fiddle with it if you're taking it apart, but they work fine.

At Daniels Defense there are new A2 Uppers for large hole SP1s. They are stripped uppes only. Though mine has turned out to be a gem and it works great.
