10 yrs ago I wouldnt have touched them and we never carried them in our shop. But the ones I have seen lately are looking pretty good and no customer complaints from my local shop.

I have no complaints about any of the DPMS uppers or lowers I've used and consider them to be excellent components.  I have no experience with their barrels or bolt carriers.

The only real problem I have with them is that their uppers are over priced IMO.  There's nothing about their stripped flat-top upper that makes it worth 30 or 40 more than an upper from any of several other places.

Having said that, Ameetec makes excellent quality uppers and lowers and the prices are much more reasonable.

I have a DPMS 20'' A3 rifle that I am very happy with.  I also have a complete LMT lower from Lauer with a LMT M4 upper, and a Stag lower.  The DPMS is equal as far as fit and finish to the other two.
The only difference is the LMT will shoot anything while the DPMS does not like junk ammo.

I had posted a while back that  I was having trouble with one of their uppers but I later found it was actually a problem with the lower (by a different manufacturer) and once I got that sorted out I have had zero problems.  Runs like a top.  They (DPMS) were very good about taking the upper back to look at it and even offered to pay for shipping.  I know a lot of people dislike them but mine has been running fine and I have been shooting the crap out of it.
Just my 2 cents.

Very good input guys.  I looked over a few upper and lowers and the finish was very nice.  Flat deep dark in color and all the functions were crisp and positive.  At the same time a looked at a bushy lower and the safety swith was a bit "mushy" if that sounds right
