Normal wear.  You may have a burr on the rear of your carrier that you could clean up.  Otherwise, this is normal.

The only buffer I have that has a mark on it came from a Model 1 bolt not machined smooth.
All the rest of my bolts made no marks on their buffers,Colt and RRA.
A little clean up work with a file no more marks.

You should be seeing a "fuzzy ring" where the back of the BC impacts the buffer.

If you're seeing little dents where your buffer retaining pin is impacting the buffer you have a problem.

Look at the rear of your bolt carrier.  See the little notch on the bottom that is for clearance around the buffer detent pin?  Feel the edges there... they are sometimes puckered up and cut into the face of the buffer.

Grind a radius on the edges of that notch, and then polish with the rubber polishing wheel in the Dremel kit.  That will fix it.
