[ARCHIVED THREAD] - A4gerys? (Page 1 of 2)

| I havn't seen too many lately. I like them better than the M4gerys. Thanks! |
A4 is the military designator for a flat top M16. A3 is the what most civilian manufacturers refer to the flat top receiver as. So A3 = A4, for most discussions here. |

Is that the KAC RAS? |
Nice rifle... YHM handguards? |
For some reason when i was in boot camp at Benning my M16a4 was full auto. It said burst but was full auto. I didnt figure it out until we went to the moving target burst range. I fired off my first string of about 12 and the DS looked at me funny. He grabed my weapon and put a full mag in it and hollared at the othe DS and range cadre and unloaded the whole mag from the hip. He then yelled "this is fuckin awesome!!" And also my A4 had the kac 4-rail handguards on them too, that is why i will never get an A4 with a 4rail because it was a bitch to carry through a 25 K road march. Ill carry the M4 anyday.

Well it might have been an anomaly(sp?) of some sort. As you said "I fired off my first string of about 12 and the DS looked at me funny. ", I doubt your rifle left the Prancing Pony factory that way. Maybe an Armorer dropped full rock 'n roll parts in there instead of the 3rd burst stuff. Looking through Bushmaster's catalog at home, it wouldn't surprise me if the Full auto parts were simpler to assemble, although an armorer at Benning shouldn't have a problem with that. WIZZO |
I need to update my pictures because that rifle is currently wearing a Larue BUIS and an EOtech on a Larue mount. |
Thanks..... I have a set in the safe with a flat-top upper waiting on a 20" barrel. Mine will look something like that when its done. |

Here's mine, but it's pretty far removed from an accurate representation of an M16A4...a real A4gery to be sure. YHM lightweight foregrips, flip up sights, and Phantom surpressor, on an M1S full-fluted barrel and internals, nestled in an Oly upper and lower, rounded out with Armalite plastic. No pedigree here, pure mutt! I put it together almost two weeks ago and haven't had a chance to fire it yet. I'm champing at the bit pretty bad. Maybe this weekend...maybe tomorrow at lunch... http://home.comcast.net/~csehmel/Firearms/AR15A4b.jpg I just got a confirmation that my order of OD Moly-resin shipped from Norrell's. I am planning on doing the foregrip with that. I also joined the T168 cheap scope bandwagon with this rifle in mind. We'll see if that $40 was wisely spent. :) Chris in OlyWA |

Here is a AForgery I just finished for a friend of mine. It's a "plain Jane" but I'm sure he will enjoy it and shoot the shit out of it! STAG ARMS Stripped Lower Receiver CMT "T" Marked Flattop Upper Receiver COLT LPK, Bolt, Carry Handle, Furniture and 20" 1/9 HBAR Barrel w/"F" Marked FSB ROCK RIVER 2-Stage NM Trigger, Bolt Carrier and Charging Handle HOGUE Grip ![]()

That's one lucky MOTHERF*CKER!!!! BTW I like the mag pouch on the stock...90rds sounds good to me WIZZO |
|
I finally got to go plinking with my A4gery, and it swallowed 200 rounds without a hiccup...and most of that was Wolf! I am going to purposefully not clean this rifle for a while and see how long I go without a malfunction, as it is built from such an amalgum of different vendors. BTW - the T168 was only two clicks high out of the box. Neat cheap scope. FWIW, the YHM BUIS is on the hand-guard for storage, not application. I wasn't able to get the proper eye relief with it in place. ![]() I think I'll put a #40L in the back and see if it fits under there... |
Hey Strazz... nice rifle. Is that a phantom up front? How do you like the LaRue 12.0? |
Thanks! Yup, it's a 5C1. I absolutely love the 12.0, along with all of the other LaRue gear I've purchased from Grant. The weight is good, all of my accessories fit without a problem, and it's rock solid. I've ordered a 9.0 for the midlength barrel that I'm eagerly awaiting. |
