I don’t want to bash companies, but some gun companies are selling crap!!!!!  Unfortunately I have to order my guns through an FFL because the gun store in my area is way to expensive so I don’t get to see the finish product until he orders it and my last 2 guns from smaller companies are definitely poorly made junk.hey

This was my eighth AR type gun.

Sorry I don’t have pictures.

You really didn't give us much to go on but can't you simply refuse to accept it?  Make your dealer send it back and get one that is acceptable?

I had this car once, the engine leaked oil like crazy, the heater sucked, and after 3000 miles the left front tire fell off while on the highway.

You should definitely stay away from that kind of car.

This is my 15th car I've owned too, so I know what I am talking about.

Interestingly enough, there are folks who would contend your assertion that CMMG produces poorly made junk.

Just a guess here, but you haven't contacted them yet to complain, nor have you given them any time to correct the situation?

Did you get a DPMS lower from them?  A Grizzly?  They don't make them, they only sell them so if you get a bad one chances are that is how it was shipped to them.

Call Jeff & John, they will straighten this out for you.

I would be one of those that would contend that CMMG produces poorly made junk

First, are we talking about poorly made junk or a receiver with marks on it?  And what receiver did he purchase?  One of CMMG's new receivers?  A Grizzly?  A DPMS?

the pistol lower was manufactured by cmmg

I need to call them I didn't notice it untill this morning a week after I bought it.

Sometimes you have to watch DPMS, but overall they make quality stuff, and they will always fix it if it ain't right. CMMG is making their own guns now, and I've seen a few of them, looked pretty good to me, I'll be interested to see what they do for you, I like CMMG, I'd hate to think they wouldn't make this right.

Good plan.

1) Buy lower online.
2) Pick up lower from dealer. {Don't inspect it}
3) Stash lower for a week. {Missing 7 days worth of inspection chances.}
4) Inspect lower and find "catastrophic problems".
5) Bitch about it on AR15.com
6) Call vendor and then ask them to fix problem.

Good one.

So it's cosmetics right?  That hardly sounds like poorly made junk IMO.  Poorly made junk would mean it doesn't run or doesn't run well.

I understand your frustration but the proper thing to do would be to contact them directly.  Everyone lets one slip out the door (you should see my Grizzly & Colt lowers) but it's how they handle the situation that matters to me.

I pre ordered a Bushmaster M4gery at my local dealer. I support them and in fact am happy to pay an extra $25 - $50 more from them than doing a transfer. I prepaid the rifle and as they came in they set it aside and called me. If I didnt like it, they put it on the wall as it will sell anyways.

They are a good shop and are totally honest. They deserve my business and I understand its hard for the little guys to compete against some online retailers. No transfer fees to worry about when refusing a rifle and I dont eat the shipping when I get picky. They treat me extremely well and I return the favor.

Try to wheel and deal with the shop on the price of the weapon. Most shops will be higher than online retailers but will deal when they need business instead of being transfer points.

223chris........

we should be more sensitive to your complaints here, since I cannot tell you haw many posts here ask about CMMG quality, etc. and virtually 100 out of 100 will say they are 100%.

therefore, since they are wholeheartedly endorsed here.................well you get the picture

But the majority of those who recommend CMMG, will also say how fair they are, and they should fix your problem without question

Don't take it and plan to fix it with a coat of paint though.

you bought new, you should get new.

We charge extra for the Professional Antagonist level memberships!

Anyway, why don't "you people" ever use the phone? Man I woulda been on the phone instantly if I had a bunged up lower. Course I can't picture not looking at a lower for a week either.

I have called CMMG several times on the phone. Always a courteous answer.
