I'm just kind of curious as to whether or not the three companies are connected in some way.  I noticed that all three are in Illinois and that their websites and catalogs are similar in appearance.

Rock River is in Colona, IL in a 12,000 sq. ft. machine shed(basically).

DSA is located in Barrington, IL. A Northwest burb of Chi-town.

Model 1 Sales is in Fox River Grove, IL. Also just outside of Chi-town.

If you knew the quality of Rock River, you would never confuse them with Model 1.

Can't comment on the quality of DSA though.

Just as related as GM, Chrysler and Ford. They are all in Detroit.

Armlalite, M&A, Springfield and LMT are also in also in IL.

IL is like the small arms capital of the US . . . ?

(although IL attempt to pass Kommie laws are chasing Model 1 to Texas)

Actually, Armalite and Springfield are both in Geneseo. They are very careful about advertising though. Springfield has about a 1ft by 2ft sticker in the window. Armalite has no signs what-so-ever. I was coming back from a gunshop one day and decided to see what's what and drove right by the place.

On a side note, they're very nice people (Armalite & Springfield)

DSA is good stuff. Made by LMT.

They are all built by the same media company (located here in WI)
The same company that had an interest in Shotgun News.

DSA makes one heck of a FAL rifle.  I have fired a few variations of their FAL's and I was very pleased with the performance.

Those three are not related at all.

Model 1, M&A and Sherluk what would best be described as common ancestry but no current business connections.

I've heard from numerous sources that people at RRA used to be at Armalite but again there are no connections beyond benig rival companies that are headquartered in the same state.

That was my next guess.
