I have exactly $400 to spend. I need help deciding how to allocate it.

Option 1: Sully stock with sling-plate, Troy or ARMS #40 folding rear BUIS, TD grip, and more mags.

Option 2: Magpul M93 stock, TD grip, and ARMS #40/LaRue BUIS.

Option 3: Eotech 551 or 552

Option 4: write-in candidates

Any advice?

Edited to add: My carbine currently has a Bushmaster six-position collapsible stock, A2 grip, and a RAS II with no optics.

Option 4
Buy more ammo and range time.  Then buy a good sling.  Shoot, shoot, shoot.

I voted for Options #4.

A good carbine class.  The skills you'll take away will do more for you than any gadget.

But if you MUST have a toy...

Then it would be the EOTech 552.. (you have a decent stock - so there is no need for the Sully or Magpul as cool as they are)

You could try an EOTech 512 with a YHM flip up sight...

But I like toys . . . .

Thanks, Forest.

Option 4.

Ammo and Mags or get the Aimpoint package deal from Moondawg in the EE.

Option 3, but not the 552, get a 512 unless youplan on using night vision equipment. Thats $299 you have $100 left for a BUIS, or mags, ammo, etc.

+1 except it's hard to tellif you have no irons at all.  If you have a carry handle, I'd chop it to mount behind the 512.  If you have no irons, then yes, BUIS with the remaining cash.  If you don't have to spend that remaining cash, save it towards later getting  a Magpul stock.

I do have a carry handle that I can chop.

It is probably a waste of money right now to buy a sexier rear BUIS.

I voted #3.
Go for the 512, a single point sling mount and a MOUT sling. GandRTactical can hook you up.

I'd get the 512 + BUIS.  Very do-able with $400 With the EoTech you'll need to decide if you want it in front or behind the RAS2 hump.  If behind you may be limited on what BUIS will fit with it.  What rear BUIS do you have now?

ETA:
Oops, I didn't see you had listed the NV models.

I'm totally behind the EOThingie and a chopped carry handle for a BUIS.  I think the EOTech is a great combat optic and the chopped carry handle is the total "survive a nuclear war" backup, plus you save mucho dinero!

I bought an Aimpoint, but I could have just as easily gone the EOThingie route...flip of a coin, almost.

An Aimpoint,TD fore grip....and then some more mags dending on what you have now,or the Aimpoint and more mags you can get a fore grip later.I like the chopped carry handles like Rotos has it saves money and way stronger than a pop up BUIS and hes got the Aimpoint my favorite red dot.

I voted #4,... Buy more ammo!

The whole point of these machines are to send a small projectile down-range many times, no?

Option #4

Unless you are planning on using nv I would get an EOTech 511 and the you would have enough for an ARMS #40L.  This is the route I went and so far am very pleased.

strick909 does have me looking at the MOUT sling though.

The optics will make the biggest impact on your shooting enjoyment.

The other options were 'feel good' components. Good choices, but not like adding an EO.

You don't have any optics so that is the answer IMO. Now I prefer Eotechs but you have a RASII which I think works much better with an Aimpoint

Leaning toward an optic right now---the Eotech 511 or 512 seems like my best bet, since I don't care about night vision capability right now. I also like the fact that you don't have to buy a separate mount for it (necessarily), unlike the Aimpoint (which I also lust after).

I have already started the chopping process on the carry handle sight--I'll post some pics after I am finished.

The RAS II, BTW, came with a full set of various sizes of panels and a KAC vertical grip.
I do want something like a TD pistol grip, though, because I hate the rigid finger-groove on the A2 grip.

I think a piece of pac-skin might take care of most of my problems with the "stock" stock, though I will definitely want to upgrade later.

Thanks for all the input, y'all!
