OK, I wish I could legally buy an AR but I live in CA and we still cannot, for now. Come on NRA!!! ANyway, I found a great deal on a collapsible stock and the adapter to put it on my AK. I have a question regarding the purpose of the spring and piston which goes into the tube. Is this necessary, and is it to dampen recoil, or what? hippie.gif |
No. The Buffer Assemby is used to push the bolt/boltcarrier back into position. Much like the action spring in the AK.

Tennessee is a pro-gun state. Out of state concealed permits are valid there. That's nice to know if you are passing through or vacationing. California on the other hand continues to inact more restrictions on gun ownership. Your new governor just banned .50 BMG rifles. |

I am not blaming the NRA... hell no, I am praying for them to start their legal assualt against the CA AWB by claiming it infringes on interstate commerce! @ least that was what I heard they were going to do! |

OK, I assembled the adapter I purchased from noveltyguns.com, it is a POS!!! Here is the picture from their website: http://www.gungarage.com/akstockconersion.jpg This is a 2 piece, plastic part that requires filing to fit...but still never fits correctly. It also keeps coming loose, so I wouldnt recommend it! Waste of $30!!!
