Have a question that I'm sure will be answered here.

How do the RRA R4 handguards compare to the Bushmaster M4-type handguards?

Same quality? Same dimensions? Same heat shield?

I know that Bushy's have a black heat shield and RRA has the silver colored shields.

Do the Bushy's taper down like Colt and RRA?

I'm thinking that there has to be an appreciable difference to justfy the price difference ($18 for RRA vs. $40 for Bushy's)

Thanks for any help you can give!

The Bushy heat shields cover the seven holes but under neath have 2 rows of seven.RRA the holes in the shield line up with the ones on the handguard.I got a few sets from legal transfers for $20 a piece that were the same as the Bushy M4 types. In any event they are both good although I like the holes in the guard covered by the heat shield as the colt ones are that way even though they have double shields.

So, do the handguards that L-T is selling have the black heat shields as well?

The only new M4 handguards I found for sale for $20 were from Adrenaline Arms, and do not have the black heat shields. Doesn't L-T deal mostly in RRA parts?

Thanks for the info.

Adrenaline Arms M4 handguards can't be beat for $20. IMO, they all work the same.

I have both busy and COlt M4 hand guards.
They look the same on dimensionally on the out side.
The Colt has a smoother finish than the Bush.
Colt is Dual Heatsheild Bushmaster is single.

The Bushmaster HG's are a little better than RRA HG's  The Bushmaster ones fit tighter, they are made of a little heavier material and the heat shields are more secure.  All of the RRA HG's I have used  fit loosely and could move after installed, all of the RRA HG's I have used, the heat shields moved and then did'nt line up withthe holes in the HG.  RRA HG's are good for the money but there are better ones out there.

Same here.  Colts are double-lined and IMO dissipate heat more readily.

I have the RRA, and while I have nothing to compare them to, the quality is good.

It is better than the quality on my issue M16A2.

They do have a single shield, and all the holes go straight through.
