One of the prongs on my firing pin retainer (on my AR15 Bushmaster 16") is slightly bent.  Hard to push it back in.  I can see where it took a hit and bent it.  I have about 300rds through it.
I didn't notice it at 200rds so I think it happened after that.
Is this normal?  Should I replace it or wait to see if it gets worse.

Thanks for your help!

I ran mine like that for a very long time. But it sure does suck not being able to go shooting because of a stupid pin being broke. Go ahead and get a few for back up. It won't break the bank.

Order a dozen from Brownells. Then you wont have to worry about breaking one.

Buy a bunch as spares, but be shure that you buy actual retainer pins, not plain cotter pins from the hardware store.
