Finally got my AR out to the range for some real accuracy testing. I have a RRA lower, and a Model 1 Sales M4 kit. I added a bipod and a cheapo $29 NcStar Scope (Ebay). I am inpressed!!!
After I got it sighted in at 100 yards with the NcStar 2-6 compact scope, we were shooting turtles one after another, and over on the cattails around the pond was a bunch of unsuspecting black birds. They were about 125 yds out, slight cross breeze, 1st shot, a big puff of feathers. When the other birs got their courage up to come back, I dropped 2 more with one shot each. I was grinning from ear to ear. i was using the Winchester Walmart value pack 45gr ammo. I am very pleased with the results.

Yeah imagine that i got lucky enoug to get a straight shootin' barrel from a third rate company. No bullshit in my post. The gun  was afking amazing!! I was thinking I was lucky until I took a little shitbird of a tree limb. That proved the case for me. i have a straight shooter. Thanks for the reply. this was my first AR to build and it turned out good. We have a lot of prarie dogs here in OK, I have another RRA lower I was going to make into a varmiter.  Kind of new to the forum(less than 3 months) I was wanting to build an AR platform rifle to knock pop cans off of a fence post at 500 yds.  One question I had was, does the 6.5 grendel or 6.8 use a standard AR lower and mags?Which round is more common as far as getting ammo locally for? Props to the AR-15.com site for helping me with the details of my first build. Any info on the 6.5 or 6.8 for 500yd. targets would be great. It is New Years eve, and I have had a few brews, but I am still hyped up after todays results with the M4gery. Thanks guys and stay out of jail tonight!!

That is a fine looking rifle.  Where are you located in OK?  Go to the hometown section and look at the shoot that is being organized at lexington on the 23rd.
