I have been wondering lately about what AR enthusiasts think the current values of formerly Pre-Ban Colts (strictly factory original condition, not what it can be legally modified to with other parts) are.  Specifically Models 6000, 6001, 6550 Green & Blue Label, 6600 Green & Blue Label, 6420, 6520 Green Label, 6530 ,and 6450 Green & Blue Label.  In the After-Ban era I try to judge values using the currently available Colt LEO models (6520, 6920, 6721) and then determine a certain models desirability in comparison.  Assuming that NIB Current LEOs are bringing $1000-$1200 to civilians, what would you say the values of the ealier Pre-Ban Colts are?  To start the ball rolling I think 6600 HBARs are pretty much bottom of the pile in desirability right now and clean used ones sell in the $800-$850 range.  What say you?

I'd buy R6600 H-BARS for $800.00 all day long. I've seen beater R6600's in the $1200.00 + range.

DD I think your going against his plan of down priceing these old undesirabile Colts. In hopes of taking one off the hands of someone. As they are now "formerly Pre-Ban" as in "After-Ban era".  At the "NOW"  lower market price. In hopes they want one of the newer more desirible LEO modles.

In 6 months or so, you'll be correct, but due to the low volume of Colt rifles hitting the civilian market right now, prices are still higher.  Lots of "Colt people" still haven't been able to get that rifle they've been wanting, and they are either waiting on Colt or are buying existing Colts and modifying them, so demand is still unordinarily high.  Unless things change, demand (and prices) for used Colts will continue to slowly fall for the next 6-9 months before it levels off.

I'd say that unless Colt reintroduces a full size Gov't Model, look for at least the R6550 to stay above the $1,000 mark.

Yep, but I don't think beater 6600s for $1200 are selling.  Here's an example of what I'm talking about....
Colt Ar15 A-2 Hbar Sporter No Reserve NR
....this rifle sat for 2 days with a BuyNow of $700 and took 17 bids before someone punched the button.  While not exactly my definition of "clean" it was $100-150 less than my price range.

I pretty much agree with that.  How much above that mark though?  I would probably jump on a nice 6550 for $1000 here
