Okay i want to buy a AR at this gun store in Illinois , first time i ever buy a gun, anyway can i just go in the store and come out with a AR or do i need to wait some time. BTW im asian is that okay with you guys? |
About being asian. I'm asian. So far, the i've been only to 1 store where I believed I wasnt treated fairly. I dont know if was because of my race, or that I look young so I wont buy anything. That's fine, just dont do business with them. |
As long as you are not an Hmong going deer hunting |

Asian? who cares, You're into AR's and thats what matters. As far as the Illinois laws go, you will need to have your F.O.I.D. card (firearm owners I.D.) you can apply for that at the gunshop, they take your picture and you fill out the application, pay 10 dollars and wait about 3 months for them to send it to you. If you have your FOID card then you can go in, pay for the rifle and pick it up after 24 hours, 72 hours on a handgun and ou must be 21 years of age |
If you've got your FOID card then it will only be a 24 hour wait. Do they have any in stock? If not then I know of a dealer up north here that has some no ban Bushmasters and a couple post ban Colts in stock If you need to know email me |

I'm a 6'4" Norsky from MN.. as for buying an AR, I think.... now this is MN laws, that "assult weapons" are included under the permit to purchase a handgun. MN people help me out here.. i thought i read that, but that was a few years ago under the AWB. still in effect in MN? ![]() |

Dont worry about being asian unless your in the woods of wisconsin trampling on private property. On a lighter note it shouldnt matter I have black, hispanic and asian friends Im a white Italian and the shops we go to and gun clubs we belong to have no problems with us...of course at the range all of us have ARs so whos gonna bother us any way |
|
Nothing wrong with being Asian. But if this is your very first gun, I wouldn't recommend an AR15. Maybe a more traditional firearm would suit you until you become one with the Force young padawan. I never ever, ever never, recommend any semi-automatic for someone's first firearm. |
That is correct. The FFL dealer who received my AR needed the "handgun purchasing permit" to complete the transfer. The permits are available from the county law enforcement where you reside and are good for a year. They do a background check before issuing one. |
Why not? |
There's a select few trolls here who really care about race. They're easy to pick out and they get banned regularly. None of the other 50,000+ members will care what you look like...you're one of us. A (soon to be) gun owner. Welcome to the site. |

Ive fired an auto M16a1 while i visited the Phillipines and liked it alot but when i returned to te states i coudlnt buy an AR becase i lived Brooklyn NY where guns were prohibited but now im ina state that allows guns so... yea the urge to own an AR is just too much BTW thanks for the welcome |
**Even a couple of gay guys.** Now c'mon CJ, homosexuality ain't a "race". No pun, my friend. Live long and prosper ~ ICD |
