What's with Bushmaster lately?  My Charging Handle came bent from the factory, I called them up and told them, the man gave me an RMA number and told me to send it in for replacement.  I told him that it was important that I got a new one quickly, he said it would be no problem and he appologized for the problem happening in the first place.

I send the CH out the next day which was Nov 22nd, I look up the tracking number and see that it was delivered in the morning on the 24th.  Today, December 3rd, I call up Bushmaster to see where it is and the lady tells me it's not even logged in yet, that there are a lot of items still in receiving.  And the best part is how she probably won't be able to check on it and get back to me until Monday.

Now I am going to miss atleast 3 weekends of shooting my brand new rifle because the gentlemen on the phone said it would be done quickly.  If he told me about the back-up at their place I wouldn't have sent it in yet, or I would have bought on at the store so I didn't miss these 2 weekends of good shooting weather.

I'm sure I'll be over it in 10 minutes, I am just pretty pissed right now.

From everything I have read here:

1. BM is usually excellent about such issues, in both cost (usually none), and time (usually very fast).

2.  BM is very busy right now trying to fulfill a huge demand for new AR's, and they are running around like the proverbial beheaded chicken.

Sorry that it happened to you.  I would have sent it back, then bought a new one locally anyway.  Can't hurt to have backup.

did you have to send the whole rifle or just the charging handle?

If you need to borrow a CH I can send you one.  I'm in CT.

Ordered and new upper yesterday 12/2. 8-10 week lead time because they are 15,000 to 20,000 barrels behind, due to the Sunset of the Assoult Weapons Ban.

Who is buying all this stuff? I mean the ban sunsets and now everyone wants an AR all of a sudden. Or maybe everyone just wants to "no-ban" their AR.

Inetresting....

I think I'll wait until the dust settles before ordering anything new. We have four more ban free years now, in all probablilty.

I appreciate the offer!  Nice guys around here.

But I'm going shooting tomorrow, so I'll have to steal my shooting partners charging handle, you think he'll notice  I guess we'll have to tag team it.  Hopefully my CH will be back by next weekend.

I understand that BM is swamped, I just wish that man I talked to didn't tell me it would be a quick exchange.  What's done is done, I just want to shoot this damn thing (especially now that I got the EOTech ).

_DR

I think that alot of it is hero-worship.  People see our guys carrying these weapons in Afghanistan and Iraq and want to get a rifle just like the soldiers have.  I think this also explains why so much of the frenzy is over the M-4geries, as people really want to be like our spec-ops guys.

All in all, I think it is a very healthy thing.  Although I do wish it was a bit easier to get an LE 6920 these days.

I think thats it. Sad to say, but not everyone who shoots ARs comes here to AR15.COM, but they should!

I really think that a large majority of the people thinks its only a matter of time before another ban is in place or it's "couldnt have it, now I can, so I'm gettin' it!. But, like DR said, I think we should feel safe for the next 4 years.

I just got a Shipping Notice e-mail from Bushmaster.  The tracking number isn't working yet, but atleast I know I'll have it by next weekend.   Maybe they are watching us???

My mistake in the above post, what was shipped was actually the Bushmaster video I ordered last month.

I called them since the woman never called me back yesterday as she said she would.  The man I talked to said she was probably looking for my package now, that they are pretty backed up.

I asked him how long it would take to process, he said a couple of days  JUST SEND IT OUT.  If they just sent the new one out today I would get it by the weekend, but no...

So now this is another weekend that I don't get to use my new rifle because they lied about the time it would take and can't send out a simple charging handle quickly to make a good customer happy (by good, I mean that I ordered $450+ in over priced items from their website along with buying one of their rifles).  They received it on the 24th, now on the 7th they still haven't touched it.  If they man I first spoke to didn't tell me how quickly it would have been processed I wouldn't have sent it to them.

I see now why I should have just bought the Colt.  It might cost more, but atleast I would get to use it.

I'm in the same process with Armalite. I've decided if they take more than a month to send me a new set of handguards that I'm boycotting them. In which case I'll just stick to RRA and Bushy.

My problem is that I sent my handguards USPS so I'm fubar when they tell me they haven't gotten it :(
