Yes, that would be my guess. That is a 16" barrel. A1 would be a good stock too. |
Buy a Magpul M93 stock. More rigid than fixed stocks. Better cheek weld than fixed stocks. More adjustable than regular CAR style stocks. PS: A2 stocks are too long. Especially with his optic on that upper. I dont think there could be a worse choice for a stock... too long for offhand with that scope and too long to achieve a propper stance for CQB AND he has armor on too! Its just totally worong on every level. Im sure its not just his idea to have that stock as I am pretty sure he was issued that A2 and popped a different upper on it. |
Which collapsible stocks have you tried??? C4 |
you obviously haven't used a magpul |
That or any collapsable stock ![]() Remman |
True...........all comes down to the individual. The subject hopefully prefers this setup rather than "settles" for it. |
| Modifying Govt weapons are a no-no,,,,,,,but in the shit anything goes. Much of the modifying that went on in Vietnam is what developed into the weapons we use today(Flash Hider, forward assist). You can probably expect significant changes to civi AR's in the not so near future, hell many of us have already figured those out with our own weapons. I doubt commanders are handing down punishment for the self mods. Yes, the LBE does go over the vest..were else would they put smokes other than the magazines pouches. OUT HERE! |
| If you have longish arms the a2 stock is good with body armor, my arms are really long and the a2 stock is not long enough for me when im naked, haha, anyway people are not built the same to make stupid blanket statements like "body armor and lbe need adjustable stock". The guy in the pick has long arms, you can tell by how his sleeves fit. Use ur brain, before making blanket statements. |

In '82-86, I had an SP1 in the armory and I used to trade it out with my issue A1 upper to go shoot blanks on FTX, etc. That way I only had to clean lower when I got back in. I was done cleaning rifles in like 10 minutes. Used to piss every body else off. I also had a Scionics (sp?) sound suppressor that was passed around my squad after I left. It was not registered and I have no idea where it came from, but it was cool. Added like 10" oal to the rifle, but it was way cool. I also had a carry handle scope mount I used sometimes and a modified M60 sling to carry my rifle. It worked as a tac sling. Matter of fact, that suppressor came in handy a time or so down "south of the border". I wanted to mount my C-cell Mag light to the A1 but couldn't find a way without tape. Okay, I did that too. 100mph tape does wonders, huh? Pretty cool for 1983 or so. BTW, the Armorer didn't care as long as it was turned in as it was issued. CO didn't care either way. I was his RTO for a while. He thought the light was cool as long as I put a filter over it. |
Neither 11.5" uppers nor full-auto fire control parts are "LEO restricted" items. Anyone can buy them (in most states at least) Suppressors are definitely NFA items, there is no such thing as a "combat buying provision", you would have to go through all the paperwork just like any other NFA purchase That said I know a guy who brought an unregistered 9mm suppressor to Afghanistan, I have no idea where he got it. |
Wack alot of G's back then did ya? If the missions have not been highly classified by the NSC care to relate what happened? |
Outside of Howard. Dinner a few times. Ever been to "Cowshit" Valley, Amigo? |

I thought the same way about collaspable stocks, until I got a VLTOR for one rifle and a Magpul for another.... The VLTOR is nice but IMHO the Magpul is better. -sc
