Went to sight-in my 6920 today, using the improved battle sight zero. As I understand it, I'm supposed to bottom out the rear sight 4 clicks, past 6/3, which I did. I set a target up at 50yds, per the instructions, and fired a three shot group. Had to raise the front sight up two clicks to get point of impact, in point of aim. Now this is supposed to be zeroed at 200.
My question is, if I want to shoot out to 300, do I move the wheel, the four clicks back to 6/3, (will that be 300 now). If so, why is there 6 clicks from 6/3, to 4, and 6 clicks from 4 to 5, and so forth.
I'm so confused,h

I assume, from your account, you have a removable carry handle sight with "half click" increments.

If you followed the zeroing instructions correctly, when you go from the new (unmarked) 200M setting to the "6/3" setting, you will be turning the drum 4 clicks clockwise (as you look from the top of the sight. If you watch the sight assembly from the side, you should see it rising slightly as you turn the drum. Using the same small aperture, you should now be close to zero at 300M. Continue to turn in the same direction to get to "4" (400M), "5" (500M) and "6/3" again for 600M.

As for why there are 6-clicks per 100M at the longer distances, I don't know. Most likely its because the trajectory of the bullet exhibits more rapid drop at the longer distances.  Its also worth bearing in mind that (a) this is a battle zero rather than an exact zero, and (b) meters are significantly longer than yards.

Does this answer your question ?

ETA: This procedure is really a generic battle zero only. My 20" AR actually gives a more "correct" 200M zero at 6/3 minus THREE clicks. Go figure.

Yes and no. My handle is removeable and is marked 6/ 3 instead of 8/3, meaning it is in 1/2 click increments. With the small aperture up, I took a 1/6th allen wrench and loosened the screw, in the top of the sight, then I moved the bottom half of the wheel 4 clicks, clockwise, and tightened the screw down. The way I understand it, that's supposed to be on at 200, after being zeroed at 50yds.
Now, if I want to shoot out to 300, do I simply move the wheel 4 clicks clockwise, to the 6/3 mark?If this is right, why does it take 6 clicks, to go from 6/3 to 4(400), and it only took 4 clicks to go from the 200, to the 300(6/3)?     I got this info off the Maryland AR-15 site.       Thanks

Because the bullet has slowed and it drops faster between 300 and 400 meters, therefore it needs more elevation - more "clicks" - to compensate for that drop.

And yes, if you want to shoot at 300 meters, move the dial to 6/3.  Just like it says in the instructions for the IBZ:

9. If you have to shoot targets you KNOW are 300 meters away or more, just click to the right number on the sight.
