I installed a Jewell trigger on my Bushmaster V Match and took it to the range.  After 30 or so rounds I noticed the pin that is closer to the hand guard ( the small pin that holds the hammer) had moved about 1/4" .  Why did this happen?  I know that I installed the trigger correctly ( I had a little help from someone who had done it several times before).  Any suggestions.

Sounds like you may have broken the "J" spring inside the hammer.  Try some antiwalk pins to solve the problem.

For pin retention problems, KNS pins rule.

Why not just get a new hammer and have the rifle work properly instead of resorting to band-aid fixes?

I am just going to take it up to Jewell's plant tomorrow and have them look at it.  I called them and they said that would be fine.  Luckly I dont live very far from their location.  Problem solved.
