On my Bushmaster with normal stock, the charging handle rubs the stock. Is this normal? Should I worry? When I broke the rifle down it looks as if the handle has a little bit of a bend to it. Normal? |
You mean it actually rubs the stock when you charge it? If so that isn't normal. |

So I tried my friend's charging handle from his Bushmaster, his does not scrape so mine must be bent (you can see a slight bend). I e-mailed Bushmaster about it, I wonder what they are going to do. This is a brand new rifle that I want to use next weekend, I don't want to have to send my charging handle to them and wait for a new one missing out on a good shooting day. I really want to shoot this rifle!! |

When I say it doesn't touch, I mean it doesn't scrape. I'm sure it may tough it, but for the most part it floats in that area like it's supposed to. Only during the last 1.5-2 inches of the stroke is it pushed down hard into the stock. The bend in my CH seems to be in the middle of the handle, your bend might be towards the rear of the handle making it rub sooner. |
