On my Bushmaster with normal stock, the charging handle rubs the stock.  Is this normal?  Should I worry?  When I broke the rifle down it looks as if the handle has a little bit of a bend to it.
Normal?

A telestock will some times make contact in its closed posistion because of the ring around the stock itself, comes molded that way but an A2 stock should be no contact at all at least I dont have any on my full size with A2 stock.

You mean it actually rubs the stock when you charge it? If so that isn't normal.

Yes, when I pull it back it rubs the stock.  When you lock the bolt back and the handle is free floating, you can feel how there is resistance.

There should be a little 'slop' in the CH.  With the bolt locked back, it may rub the top of the stock, but you should also be able to lift it up a little and have it clear.  If not, try another CH.

I'm having the same problems with the CH rubbing against a new collapsible stock but never had a problem with it on the fixed collapsible or standard A2.

So I tried my friend's charging handle from his Bushmaster, his does not scrape so mine must be bent (you can see a slight bend).

I e-mailed Bushmaster about it, I wonder what they are going to do.  This is a brand new rifle that I want to use next weekend, I don't want to have to send my charging handle to them and wait for a new one missing out on a good shooting day.  I really want to shoot this rifle!!

Does the CH rub against the top part of the lower receiver where the buffer tube screws into the threads?

I have a RRA CH and it makes two marks on the lower receiver, but it does not contact the stock.

No, it does not.  It only rubs against the stock during it's last 1.5-2 inches of travel.  When it gets closer to home it stops rubbing.

So your CH does not even contact the top part of the lower receiver?

My CH is loose like everyone said, but if you pull it back naturally, it will touch and leave 2 marks on the LR... Mine must be bent as well.

Nope, it doesn't even touch the stock in that area, only at the back of it's stroke.

When I say it doesn't touch, I mean it doesn't scrape.  I'm sure it may tough it, but for the most part it floats in that area like it's supposed to.  Only during the last 1.5-2 inches of the stroke is it pushed down hard into the stock.

The bend in my CH seems to be in the middle of the handle, your bend might be towards the rear of the handle making it rub sooner.

I called up Bushmaster, the first guy was kinda rude but the second guy I talked to was very nice and appologetic about it.  He gave me an RMA and told me to send it in for a brand new replacement charging handle.
