| how much does it cost for a Drop in Sear conversion for AR15? is that the only part i need if i want to change my AR to Fullauto? |
Go to the full-auto section and read some of the background material there. The drop-in sear will cost ~ $7,000. There is also the cost of getting the needed paperwork done, which will take some time. Also make certain that posession of full-auto is actually allowed in your state. As for how much needs to change, it depends a lot on your AR15. In the best case, you will probably need to replace the bolt carrier for an M16 carrier. In the worst case, you will need to replace the lower, if it is specifically designed to not permit the use of a drop-in sear. If you have a Colt, you find that after replacing the lower, the upper may need special pins to get it to fit. |

Relax people. Jumping all over someone for asking about conversion to full auto isn't warranted. Kindly point them to the Full Auto forum because you're doing them and the rest of us a great disservice with all the FUD. Full auto is not something to be scared of. Otherwise, you're just playing into what the liberal want. As long as you're informed with the knowledge of what you can and cannot do, full auto can be a reality. As PhilipPeake has stated, full auto is not a cheap enterprise to undertake but it can be done if you're not in a location that outright bans full auto. There's two ways to convert an AR-15 to full auto. I say convert, because you can use both methods to make a semi AR-15 to fire full auto. One is with a RDIAS and the other is with a LL. Both will require modification of the AR-15 to get it to work. Either part will run you about $7,000-9,000 not including one or two tax stamps required for the transfer nor what a qualified FFL will charge to do the transfer and hold the part until your form clears. That's also assuming you can get the signoff and if not, then there's an additional price of creating your corporation (if your locale's laws allow). Obviously, with such price tags, most RDIAS and LL are sold already installed in a working rifle but some sellers may part with them solo. |
