| Just bought my first AR, a 20" armalite. I've only put 20 rounds through it and I already want to build another one. I need to be pointed in the right direction on where the best place to buy the upper and lower recievers. The brands don't really matter, I'd like to build one for a reasonable price if possible, less than $600. Great site, lots of information on this rifle....thanks |

Welcome Jace! AR15.com has a lot of great advertisers, as well as some really good deals for stuff on the equipment exchange. You should be able to build a pretty nifty AR14 for $600.00. E P.S. Brands, (actually QUALITY) DOES in my humble opinion matter. When building an AR15 YOU WILL get what you pay for. I suggest sticking to one of the better brands for your choice on an upper assy. for sure, and try to get the best possible lower for your money. It will save you both time & money in the long run. |

First off, welcome aborad the....uh....board. Secondly, any of the more well-known makers will supply first-rate receivers and parts for your build, such as Bushmaster, Rock River arms, etc. Check the equipment Exchange, and you'll find some pretty good deals. Also, check the feedback forum as well; unfortunately, there are a FEW crooks out and about. |
RRA uppers are priced reasonable. I bought an A4 flattop RRA upper from www.adcofirearms.com for $375. They have the A2's for 395$. I plan on going with an assembled MEGA lower thats $149 shipped. Then you need a stock...and a BUIS if you get the flattop. I already have a plan to build a nice long SS barreled free float flat top
