I just bought a 552 and mounted it dirrectly on my flat top Bushmaster by tighting the side allen screw. What is the long thumb screw use for and where does it go? Thanks for the help.

You can use that instead of the allen screw if you want

Thanks. Thought I was going crazy not finding another place for that screw. Like it was some extra lock for the allen.

If using the thumbscrew, it is recommended to go hand tight plus a quarter turn.
