These guys have them and more

but why not get a non-neutered model?

like the LE6920?

although, I didn't consider whether you are in a state that did not recognize the sunset of the AWB, or not. Edit: Hell, you are in Fl- like I am.

otherwise, I'd recommend a different, but similar model Colt.

also Here or Here who are both listed on the Equipment Exchange (above tab) under complete firearms .......

Good luck

The Colt 6400C is the exact same rifle as the LE6920 only the MT6400C has a fake collapsible stock, muzzle brake instead of the standard flash hider, and lacks the bayonet lug

all of these 'extras' are what sets the rifle apart from the so-called post ban configurations

whether or not you 'need' these extras, get them for the re-sale value they would represent.

here's the LE6920

but thereare other models that are good too

Excuse me, but I called Colt recently and they are NOT selling the MT6400C with No-Ban features and will not be "for some time to come while we are fullfilling our obligations to our fighting men and woman and our military contracts" (that's as close to verbatim as I can remember).

When asked when one could expect these rifles to be "un-neutered" I was told they "would cross that bridge when they came to it."

Keep the personal comments to yourself, Lucid is new here and deserves better.

If lucid is putting out false info, he deserves to be called out.

Plus the 6400 is marked M-4. Where the 6920 isn't.

What's closest? Who cares? If you want real close, put a 6920 upper on the 6400 lower like I did.

Calling someone a "Rollmark Queer Queen" is different from calling someone out.

And what's this "Calling Out" sh*t anyway?  Is this a forum or a bar fight?  Can't someone be corrected, or does it have to be a fight everytime someone is wrong, or perceived to be so?  Are you here to help people or to beat them up when they disagree with you?

Plus the 6400 is marked M-4. Where the 6920 isn't.

If rollmarks are important to you, there's a one for the MT6400C.

EL_ROTO,
IF YOU"RE GONNA TAKE OFFENCE AT SOMEONE FOR "CALLING OUT" AT LEAST  QUOTE HIM CORRECTLY! THE TERM THAT I USED WAS " ROLLMARK QUEEN".
GET THAT? QUEEN WITH AN 'N', YOU MYOPIC POS!!!

Now that I've gotten that off my chest I'll quit screaming and continue at a more moderate tone. You must be spoiling for a pissing match, 'cause you didn't even bother to mention the fact that the correspondent in question, in his feeble attempt to make (as you call it) a 'correction' started his post with the word "bullshit". He reaps what he sows!

Either get your own facts straight before chiming in with your holier-than-thou attitude or mind your own business. Whine all you want about this. I've spoken my piece and I'm done with you.

With the exception of the so called "evil features” they are the same.  Same receivers - different roll mark. Add the evil features and you have the same rifle w/o the annoying LF only stamp.

[#18]
Why do you want a 6400C post-ban type rifle?
10/10/2004 6:53:23 PM EDT
[#19]
One reason to purchase a Colt MT6400 over the 6920 is because the 6400s are a lot easier to find and cheaper.  Then, after you get it home, you shoot it awhile and finally discover the brake is too loud....Huh, What did you say?  Then send the upper off for a threading job and FS.  Then you get rid of the POS fixed psuedo-collapsible stock and go with a Sully, Magpul, LMT/Crane, or Vtor.....by that time you discover it isn't really cheaper, but you can do it in stages.  That may be an advantage to some.
I have both, and they are both fine weapons.
10/10/2004 9:28:00 PM EDT
[#20]
I bought a MT6400c a few months before the sunset of the ban.  I have since ordered a Magpul M93A stock for it which I would have ordered anyway even if the stock already collapsed, so I don't really consider this an added expense.  I have, however, sent the upper to Kurts Kustom Firearms for a cut to 14.5 and an A3 Flashhider (1/2" longer than A2).  He is also swapping out my FSB for one with a lug.  This work was very reasonable, and my rifle will say M4 and it won't say LE only which is preferable to me.  So I for one actually prefer the MT6400c to one of the LE models.
10/31/2004 12:59:52 AM EDT
[#21]
Hey tacman, how did the conversions from Kurt's go? That sounds like the way to go! So they cut & threaded the bbl, put FS on it, and swapped the FSB for one with the lug, eh? Can you give me a ballpark figure of what they charged for that? Did you get it back yet and how does it look?
10/31/2004 6:42:16 PM EDT
[#22]
He charged me $157.50 including return shipping insured, but I supplied the lugged FSB which I bought from Bravo Company for $18.95.  I got it back just the other day, and it looks awesome.  I recommend the quality of the work 100%.  He was a bit slow and hard to get a hold of at times, but he is a one man shop, and that is understandable.  I am sure you can probably get it done quicker somewhere else, but I doubt you can get it done any better.  He even restamped my barrel markings that were removed in the cut and recontour process.

No, mine is deep black, just like the lower.

Is yours obnoxiously purple, like some of the old Bushys? I seem to remember that Bushy's problems were the result of running too many receivers through the anodizing before replenishing the dye. I wonder if Colt had the same problem???

Under certain light my original 6400C upper has a subtle tinge to it. In this pic the "tint" is exaggerated slightly due to the camera flash, but you'll get the idea:

Your point being?

They don't have a happy switch either. The pin size is a non-issue, except to those who like to make hay against Colt. Colt considers the 6400C a Title I M4. That's one reason why it's marked as such right on the lower.

well said BFD.

I cannot understand Connecticut.

They were once majority owners of Colt.
They are home base for Colt - a 180 year old company doing $100 million+ in annual business and presumably paying lots of state/corporate tax to them

You would think they would be a lot more pro 2nd Amendment and a persons RTKBA
