With the sunset I want a FH, just like everyone else. I have a Bushmaster carb, 14.5" M4 profile with a Y-Comp rounding it out to the 16". Would you get a new barrel and have the FH attached to it and then have an extra barrel laying around? or Would you have the Y-Comp removed and replaced with the FH(the less expensive option)? Also, what's the difference between the Phantom 5C1 and 5C2? |

Usely the blind pin is located at the bottom 6 o clock position, but on bushmaster y comp, I think it located at the 12 o clock position. Just dremel till you see pin, get tiny pin out and screw off y comp. I could be wrong about the y comp, read a post where someone eles has removed their y comp. TG |

Thanks for the replies, and what everyone is kind of what I was leaning towards anyways. I don't like the Y-Comp brake at all(loud and it's a flamethrower), and the only reason I was thinking of getting a new barrel is just to have a spare in case. The barrel I have now has barely 500 rounds through it so it has a lot of life left still. Now, I'm not 100% comfortable with doing the surgery myself, so who do you all recommend? I've looked into adcofirearms, I think it's $80-$90 for them to remove old brake and put on new. Who else has a good reputation for 'smith work? |

Check this link: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=199258 Good info.. just do it yourself.. Have a shop permanently attach it, that part should be cheap. I'd go with the 5C2.. |
i have removed my minni-y from my 14.5 not that hard. mine had pins @12 & 6 o'clock and lock- tite on the threads. i just used a dremel to grind down to the pins and got it hot to soften locktite and used a screwdriver in the holes of the brake to remove it. then i put on my kkf brake

Could you give me more details on this. I've never seen anything about that mentioned in the KS gun laws. |
