Sure, that's how they all start.

But to chrome line just one barrel would probably cost more that 10 new barrels???

Nobody I know of offers that service if that's what you are asking. Just buy a chrome lined barrel.

Not unless you et it rebored and re chambered to provie the room for the lining. That stuff is pretty thick.

Used to be an outfit in Illinois, Marker Machine, that advertised in the American Rifleman for years, offering chrome lining at reasonable prices.  Haven't seen an ad by them for at least 20 years.  

Had them do an M1 Carbine barrel for me about 1959 (yes, I'm that old). At the time I was getting 1200 round cases of GI carbine ammo free (don't ask) and was shooting a thousand rounds of the stuff a month, so I thought chroming might extend the barrel life.  

Apparently, costs have gone up sufficiently over the years that it isn't feasible to do single pieces any more.  If it was, I'm sure somebody would be offering it.
