Can you buy a 10 1/2 inch barrel setup without any paperwork....I think there is some kind of extra license you have to get(SBR) to put it on a gun. Whats the deal and how is it done.(Legal end).

You can buy those 10.5" and other short barrels from a few different places GSE, J&T, Etc. ) with no paperwork. Technically you can buy those parts, .you just need to apply for your tax stamp through the ATF if you want to assemble that onto a working firearm

You can buy it legally as long as you don't own a lower also. If you DO own a lower, you have to register it as an SBR with the ATF before you buy the upper.
