I was looking at replacing the hand guards on my 16" SS barrel and I was wondering about the free floats out there. Do the tubes get hot? I normally shoot around 300 rounds in a 2-3 hour period. I don't want to shoot with gloves due to the heat in South Florida. Thanks for you opinions PWT |
It depends a lot on the design of the individual handguard. I.e. an aluminum tube is going to get warmer than a fiberglass or carbon fiber tube. But you shouldn't have to worry about it since you're shooting so little. Start firing 300 rounds in 2 or 3 minutes and you'll need to worry about heat. |
