| Let me say I don't, I REALLY don't want this to turn into a anti-Colt pissing match. However, I would like this answered. When did Colt start using the .170" (i think thats right) FCG? Has it been implimented since the SP1s, or is it a more recent development? |

I believe it was in the late 80's around the time the slab side AR-15A2s were produced. My memory is hazy on that, but I think it's close. Trouble is there is no distinct line on when modifications to features were made, as they tended to overlap for different versions. |
TurboJoe, are you spamming the boards? I've seen a few posts of yours in the last few minutes, and not one of them contained anything useful. As for when Colt switched to the large firecontrols, it is generally accepted that they did it when they introduced the blue label rifles. Like mentioned above, Colt has been known to mix and match parts on factory rifles, so there probably really is no definitive answer. |

Yeah 556A2, get a 6400......good therapy. The hating thing will eat you.......get a 6400....quite a nice Colt, and accurate, too. Funny thing will happen. You will no longer hate Colts. Actually, I felt the same way......but it was what the COMPANY continually did that I hated, not the rifles. Who can hate a rifle or a Colt .45 auto? Not I.
