Only ones you should really bother with are the Tokyo Marui ones.

In addition to the ones mentioned by Replay, these are also reputable. If you're buying an AEG, then TM is the only way to go. If you're buying a gas blowback handgun, then Western Arms followed by TM.

Too true, Guns are not toys. And they shouldn't be treated as if they where.

you could get him a AR with a 22. coversion kit, then we he gets old enough take out the kit. Might give you some time for that father son bonding thing, I can't wait till my 4 year old gets older.

The Chipmunk is a great way to start off gun saftey. It comes in a few calibers like .22 to .17 HMR.
Its made for youths, single shot, and only weighs 2-3lbs (depends if you get the bull bbl) and only cost around $200.
