I was reading an article on the .243 WSSM (Win.Super Short Mag.) cartridge and noticed that it was roughly the same length as a 5.56. I thought  that surely the industry see's a great new chambering for an AR rifle. You guys know if anybody is developing such a rifle?

It's been done and it burns barrels like nothing before.

I know of people that have gotten no more than 500 rounds through one.

The .243 WSSM is almost as bad.

There was talk of discontinuing the .223 WSSM.  Metallurgical technology just hasn't gotten there yet.

What about a  7mm WSSM and the .30 WSSM?  Oly's ad said they were "available".  Anybody see/shot one yet?

I saw an Oly .243 WSSM at a local gun shop today, so I would think that they are all available.
