In Matt_B's post he speaks of the magpul's getting battery storage compartments... I just want to ask if anyone knows any new infomation about this?  I emailed mapul with no reponse...

is this going to be a whole new stock ?  Or is it going to an assessory that one can buy to add to their current stock?

Thanks for any info...

I cant say for absolute certain, but I am pretty confident that these will be an add on for the M93A stock you can buy right now. I'd put money on it.

I asked Richard at Magpul and got no firm response...

Here is a pic of the different tail units from Magpul's M93A installation instructions. I have no idea if these configurations will be the final production versions, but at least this gives you an idea of how they might work:

Well, the Magpul has been out for a while now and by the drawings they obviously have a pretty good idea that they are supposed to be like, what is the hold up?  These days from CADD drawing to mold doesn't take that long, why don't they just start making the stuff or farm it out if they are too busy???

Link to my AR's so I don't hijack the thread.  Notice none are wearing a Magpul.  I DO have a Magpul, but am undecided as to it's use at this time.  It just doesn't seem to agree with my shooting style, but nevertheless, it is one kickass stock system.

I have it on my M4, it's a really nice piece of work, well designed, rock solid. The only gripe, the buttplate is a bit rough on my shoulder after a couple of hundred rounds at the range. I talked to Richard at Magpul, he said a recoil pad is in the work, hopefully it will be available soon.

Ok I will try and clear this up.

The Magpul M93 was built to validate some ideas which we filed a number of patents on. Because of what we learned along the way our 6 month project balloned in to a 2 year redesign of the entire back end of the rifle.

Once we released the M93 in a form we felt comfortable with, we had to decide what project to tackle next. While some M93s have found their way to Iraq and Afganistan they are still small in number. For this reason we decided to focus on releasing some of the smaller items that the MSS put on the back burner. Items that could also benifit more ground level troops in harms way.

The result of this desision is the release of the "Ranger Plates" and the XT Panels. Now today we gave a sneek peek at the new Self Leveling Follower-

Remember all Magpul products (including tool and die) is built here in the US. If I moved everything to China I could probably crank out new designs like "Happy Meals".

Don't worry though we are working on the release of the M93B and tail/ fixed stock units will be released as we get more CNC time.

Wow - thank you to Magpul for commenting.  Despite my sarcastic comment, I realize that just whipping out a product from design into quantity distribution is no easy snap - people who think that do not have real business experience.

I have NO problem with TROOPS COME FIRST, I will always suffer the wait in that cause.

The designs are so radical, I can also understand a steep learning curve in patents and designs for a stock system that is much more advanced than any others.

Thank you and KEEP IT IN THE US.  China can go you know what themselves.

While I hate waiting as any American does, the products are awesome and so I will keep doing so because of it.  I am also glad that Magpul is not limited to a single product angle as the more cool stuff they come up with, the better, because I LOVE choices and gear to choose from!
