| If anyone knows how to or has one of these stocks please go to the Industry section under Magpul and look at my post. I'm having some trouble installing it. Thanks. |

I had considered buying one of these and downloaded the .PDF file of the installation manual. It seems unusually complicated installation for a collapsible stock. I've removed and replaced my factory Colt collapsible pre-ban stock with no problems..... and I'm an AR newbie. I don't understand the whole "shim" deal in their insall, but I guess it would be easier if you had the gun and kit in hand to try and figure it out. I don't know why they couldn't have used the same locknut arrangement as stock. Has anyone published and online with pics step-by step installation guide for one of these??? If not it would sure be helpful!!!! HINT HINT for those who've done it or know |
It's really very simple to install and can be completed in 10 minutes or less. I'm actually working on installation pictures for the stock to go with the instructions that will be completed this week. I'll post it both here and have it tacked in the Magpul forum. Michael |

The first one I installed took about 25 mins., including removing my old stock. I was on the phone with Richard from MagPul because I was having a problem getting the parts to fit together. I didn't want to break anything but it just took a little more force than I was using to get everything to lock together. Also, I didn't have to trim down any shims to get the stock timed correctly. I did my second install in about 15 mins. without the manual. The first one is alway the toughest but once you're done, you are done. Everytime I bring an AR to the range, I love the MagPul a little bit more. I've started using preset clips. It really easy to adjust the stock with it shouldered. |
