I have a 1973 vintage SP1, five digit serial number, ending with an X (30,000X for example). I called Colt and they haven't got a clue (imagine that). I talked to a local gunsmith and he had just checked out some LE trade - in SP1's and he said they all had the same X. I can only figure that the X is for FET exempt rifles sold to law enforcement agencys. Any other ideas? Thanks Match223 |
