Hey guys Im catching on a bit. My question is the Colt match target barrel is not ment to shoot 5.56 .223 is proper correct? If i wanted to shoot 5.56 to save money what would be a good barrel to but to do this. Do you think I should. I have read the ammo oracle too lol |

All Colt Match Targets have 5.56 chambers, despite what is indicated on the lower receiver. You can tell for sure by looking on your barrel between the front sight and the muzzle. It probably looks something like this: The only possible exception is the CR6724 Colt Accurized Rifle. I'm not sure if that has a .223 or a 5.56 chamber. Hopefully someone who owns one can clarify. |

i own the "Colt Target Competition HBAR" chambered in .223 by far the best gun ive ever owned. can anyone tell me how i find out what modle number it is? everyone lists things like "CR6724 or MT6400, MT6601" i just realized ive already owned this rifle for over 3 years... time flys |

clubster, "The only one that isn't (chambered for the 5.56) is the CR6724". Unless Colt produced this model with different barrels that statement is incorrect. The barrel on my CR6724 is stamped MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR ELITE and I bouight it several years ago NIB. f250, I'm gonna guess and say that your Colt AR has an A2 upper, which should make it an MT6601. I dont have one to compare, but my MT6700 A3 HBAR (flat top version of the 6601) is stamped MATCH TARGET COMPETITION HBAR. Just that one word in the stamping should indicate the difference! FYI, the MT 6400 is the civvy M4, while the CR6724 is the CAR-A3 HBAR ELITE, commonly called the "Accurized Elite". HTH |
