| I really like the RRA Entry Tactical and I am thinking about bulding one. Will I save any money by doing this? What are good places to buy from? I was looking at the uppers and saw the Quad Rail Handguards. Is that a good rail system to get? Is it stable and so forth? thanks |
| Avoid the Quad Rail- it is to heavy on an M4gery carbine. Look at the SureFire M73 handguard (around 170,-) or, if you want to invest more money, RAS II or SIR (both free float the barrel). Otherwise, a great rifle! I think ADCO and Legal-Transfers specialise in building/selling RRA parts/guns. |
| Adco has the Entry Tactical (chrome lined) back in stock. I just ordered one with no tac handle as I already have an ARMS 40 to go on it. I also ordered mine with the GG&G quad rail so I can mount an eotech further forward than the standard rail. Just Email Steve at Adco and tell him want you want. He has great prices and a great reputation. |

I just got done doing what you plan on doing (my upper arrived from Adco today). You can save a considerable amount of money by building it. Lower $200 Eagle Arms(bought off Equipment exchange) Upper $424 A3 upper CHROME-LINED M4 barrel M4 handguards-no tactical carry handle (Adco custom M4 upper) That is 624 plus what ever sights/optics you want add on. I put a DPMS detachable A2 from Kieslers for $67 with shipping included. S0 . 200 + 424 + 4(shipping of upper, no FFL fee or shipping for lower, b/c face to face deal) + 67 (total for sight shipped) -------- $695 for a chrome lined quality M4 I think this is about as cheap as you can go without going used to get a chrome line, assembled M4. Your milage may vary. |

Skeet, Yes you can mount anything you want on any of these rail systems. The GG&G I ordered is modular and it comes with rail covers. Also, Adco had it in stock and gave a good price to buy it installed on my rifle. The RRA quad rail has to be installed at the factory and ordered in. That would take 4 to 6 weeks to get it and then you have to buy rail covers seperate. So, it was a no brainer for me. Now my RRA M4gery w/ a GG&G quad is going to be here in less than a week. BTW, Steve can swap out the stock for you as well. If you are not wearing body armor, the Entry stock is a bit short. |

You'll need a complete lower receiver kit(comes with everything trigger, hammer, springs, pins, pistol grip, etc.) and a buttstock assembly. Here is one of my M4gerys(RRA) I bought over time in pieces(Complete Lower,Pinned M4 stock,Chrome lined upper,C. Handle and Bolt Assy) from Steve @ www.adcofirearms.com. Runs flawlessy. | Thanks Steve!!! Now that is why I picked Adco for my AR needs. Not only did he build me what I wanted, But he posted pics to show me what it looks like. Is that with the A2 stock? It looks like it is still the Entry stock, but it could be the angle of the pic. Anyway, thank you! You should receive cert funds and ffl today![banana] |
