I have been lurking here and learned alot from you guys on how to build, but this is my first real post.I am thinking of building a carbine with a fluted barrel, or M4gery.What are the pros and cons of either??? I am thinking of model 1 for the carbine, and maybe RRA for the M4. Thanx in advance!!!!!

Welcome [smoke]
Why do you want a fluted barrel?  If ya have a heavy barrel then it makes sense, but the M4 profiled barrel isn't heavy except from the front sight base forward, the weight saving probably wouldn't be significant.  A heavy 14.5" barrel makes the weapon slightly nose heavy but still more manageable than a 20" HBAR.  Get a flat top to give yourself flexibility in optics, later get a RAS or SIR, then flash light, foregrip...welcome to the money hole [:d]

Welcome matthelimech;

You are doing the right thing in asking questions here before you buy/build.  Wish I had done the same.  A flat top (A3) is a great suggestion from Duffy.

Hope you saved up before you accepted this addiction!

Welcome to the addiction

An M4 is a great rifle to have fun with, and keep handy should the SHTF.

You could get into a RRA at a reasonable price, and have extra cash for accessories. [:D]

The only reason for the fluted barrel is that it looks "cool"!! Is the M4 a heavy profile under the handgaurds???? I am going with a flattop, I have a carry handle from my Colt 20" I can attach untill I get some kind of optics. What are the options for lights?? Do they make mounts for Surefire 6P??? and a pressure switch for it????? I have really got the addiction, and am trying to infect my co-workers!!! already have one guy ordering a lower!!!! Thanx
