Can someone simply tell me the minimum legal overall length allowed on an AR15 (or any rifle)?  I have looked throughout this forum and was not able to get to the right spot to find it although I'm sure it's here somewhere.  I thought it was 26 inches but wasn't sure.  Also, is there a minimum length for a fixed stock?  I would appreciate any information anyone has or a link.  Thanks

26 or 26.5, cant remember, and no minimum stock length, as long as OAL is enough.

Don't cut it too close, they burn your house, shoot your wife and kid, and stomp on your kittens.

It's 26". Some builders will use 26 1/4" just to play it safe.

Under federal law, OAL must be > 26", measured with a folding/collapsable stock in the extended position.
