Does anyone have any knoweledge about the Phantom flash suppressor, do they work well or is it a rip off?

There are some cheap copies out there, but the real phantom works well. It works very well. There's only one thing I have seen that works better, and thats the Vortex. And to be honest, the Vortex works only slightly better. The Phantom is a GREAT flash suppressor for any gun that is able to have one.

They are considered to be second only to the Vortex in effectiveness, especially the new style with the five slots and no prongs. I love mine.

I've been contemplating on getting a Phantom or Vortex for my preban Colt Sporter.  I think I just might do it.

I forgot to ask, where can the Phantom and Vortex be purchased?

I bought one today for 20.00, I have not installed it yet. It is 4 pronged I assume it's the "old" style. Model 1 sales carries them for 34.00 I think.

Did you buy a peel washer or crush washer or did you use your old one?

Made by Yankee Hill, 4 port and 5 port.

I've had and used both and the vortex works better, but I keep the phantom mounted on my AR-15 because I hate those 4 unsupported prongs on the vortex. I heard they can spread and I was tired of them catching onto my clothing.
