I have a preban Colt Sporter that I bought stock (in factory condition) and have given it a facelift.  I'll post the finished product next week, however I'm thinking about changing out my standard A2 flash suppressor.  Is this recommended or should I keep this one.  Being my first preban, I have never changed a suppressor out.  Is it a right-handed thread or a left-handed thread?  Will I need a new peel/crush washer?  And finally what other flash suppressors do you gents recommend and where to buy?

Thanks much,
Nick

I like the look of the A2 F/H the best, but there are others out there that work much better.  I like the look of the Phantom or the Vortex best on a carbine-length AR, and of those 2 I have only used the Vortex.  It's nice!!

Threads are right-hand, you will probably need a set of peel washers, which are ridiculously expensive for what they are.  I have used them, the old lock washer that came on my SP-1, and the new crush washer.  I had to file down the thickness of the crush washer to make it work, and would have rather used the peel washer, but the crush washer was a gift.  Never look gift AR parts in the teeth.......

Check out Bushmaster, CMMG, or some of the other parts places for flash suppressors.  Don't torque the F/H down too much!!  Not sure what the torque spec is, but it isn't a whole ton.......

Good luck........

Every other option is going to be longer than the A2. muzzle devices
