Picked up a new carry handle today for a "song," $15.00, but have no idea who made it. The elevation wheel is a 6/3. Just forward of the apeture on the left side is an A and just forward of that is what looks to be a another A with a dot at its apex. Is this just junk? Any help with a manufacturer would be appreciated. Am I going to have a sighting in issue with this if I put it on a 16" M4A3 with standard front sight post? Thanks |
| You got a good one and cheep!! the first "A" is the "splintered A" for Anchor Harvey,www.forgings.com. The second "A" is a batch marker. My "AA" came from Bushmaster, but I have seen "AA"'s and "AB"'s recently selling as Bushmaster,DPMS,FN and Olympic Arms, at $75-$100. |

There have been some problems reported with Colt M4 front sight bases not being the same as all other sights. I've seen reports of it being taller, and also reports of it being shorter. Most say it's taller. But not everybody has problems. If your M4A3 is a Colt, you might have trouble if the handle isn't Colt. If it's anybody else you should be OK, unless the handle is Colt. Bottom line...it'll probably work but you'll have to try it and see. If it doesn't, come back and somebody will be able to help you figure it out. |
