Any thoughts? Seems like a relatively inexpensive way to get a 50 cal. Figure one could go get a lower pretty cheap.

Check out the "The Armory" area...has the 50BMG's there....and the builder of the Ferret posts there too.

It is an inexpensive way to get a 50. And no papers on it too, as it's an upper.

If 50 cals are banned would this be exempt since its not a gun just an upper.?

Also the best lower would be to build a stainless steeel lower from Tannery , then there is no paper on it ever.

The Tannery Shop (I think that's the name) makes and sells 80% lowers, and I believe equipment like jigs to finish them. As Thor said ...no paperwork ...none.

How easy is it to obtain ammo for this baby? Is it quality ammo or junk?

Dave is super nice, and very helpful on the phone(If you call him, please don't talk too long, I'm waiting for him to finish my 36in SS[banana]) The [url=http://www.serbu.com/bfg50.htm]Serbu BFG[/url] looks really good, too. A little more expensive and not just an innocent little ole' upper. [url=http://www.mmag.biz]MMags[/url] look good, but there is a fairly long wait, and the [url=http://server50.hypermart.net/50bmg/001.htm]ALS[/url] decent, too, but does not eject an unfired round. Hope this is helpful.
