I want to get a Harris Bipod for my AR. What is the best way to mount it for quick and easy
attach/detach?

Would also like to be able to switch it between
my AR and my sons 10/22.

Anybody know who has the best prices?
Ideas on best model?

I use a sling stud, ya can mount one on your lower handguard, (10/22 stock probably already has one).

As to which model "S" type, (it swivels)

Get a #5 Harris bipod adapter. It will mount directly to your hand guards and with no gunsmithing. I had one on my Pre-ban Eagle Arms CAR-15 and loved it. I have ordered another one for my Olympic Arms CAR97.

Do you have to remove the handgard to be able to mount the adapter?

Height will depend on your benches.  9" is too tall for the ones I shoot on so I have the 6-9" BR model.
