| I was just here to post that after purchasing some English military mags, and non-labeled Colt Mags (atleast they were sold to me as colt mags but dont have the printed name on the bottom plates) did not work with my AR. Has anyone else had these problems, because it seems pretty specific to Eagle Arms/Armalite. The mags would feed the first bullet but jam on the second. I even put a green follower in the 'fake' Colt mag, and it was just as useless. Just wanted anyone to know that before they went out and bought english military mags, or the colts/ or before you rush any decision on buying an Armalite or Eagle Arms M15A2. |
| Stick to USGI AR15 mags (Center Industries, Parsons, Labelle, OKays, Sanchez, FN, etc) and you won't have any problems. I have an Eagle Arms and all the aforementioned mags work fine. Check "Magazines" in the Equipment Exchange. 79TRANSAM, ComputerGuy, Skich, Ammoman, and ValleyFirearms are reputable sellers of USGI AR 15 mags. |

Don't blame the guns....Armalite and Eagle Arms are very nice AR's,those mags wouldn't have worked in a Colt or Bushie either, most likely. Deal is... ( I am very sorry 'bout this ) you got took. Ripped....conned....snookered...... Tip....except for thermolds and orlites ( which cause variying rates of success with ar's but are easily identifiable) NEVER buy a mag that doesn't have a a stamped flooplate so that you can immediately identify it. Even then learn to identify the difference between mag bodies and finishes and followers so that this does not happen to you again. Also, learn to spot dents in the mag bodies too....I always get raped on that one every now and then because I forget to check. Live and learn...it happens to the best of us now and then..... As far as the Brit mags go...there again you have varying reports on the success of those mags. Now, I like Limeys as much as the next guy but I have NO confidence in their ability to design battle weapons (or magazines for them). I would just stay away unless there are overwhelming glorious reports about them in all of the trades and on this website. Which there aren't. |
