| Mos 500. I just got it today, Any good? I havent found any problems myself with it and it cost me only $200 new. Also where can I get Mag EXT for it. only can hold 5+1. This is my first shotgun lol. But love me so it was time to get one. |

Once you remove the barrel you'll understand why you can't add an extended mag to the Mossberg. You might consider replacing the safety button with a metal one, as they tend to crack when banged against stuff, which will disable the gun. Brownells has the replacements. -Troy |

Excellent shooting![8D] However most likely not accomplished with a Pachmayr Vindicator pistol grip and forearm set installed, thus my remark about said modifications rendering my 500 essentially useless |

Gloftoe, I think the 590 and 500 safeties are the same. The magazine can't be extended because the magazine caps threads into the tube. The tube is too closed off on the end to be able to add an extension tube. Remington 870's can do it because the inner diameter at the end of the magazine tube is the same diameter as the rest of the inside of the tube, and the threads are on the outside. |

snipely, if you ever find a steel trigger group for your mosssy how about posting it? I've been looking for a replacement for my 590 and haven't seen or heard of one, don't know whether a 590A1 will work. Brownells sell a steel replacement safety that looks like the stock one and an oversize plastic one. I think vandenberg of vandenberg comp sells an oversize metal replacement that i would look at if i were you. |
| M500 is a Great gun. Look around for great deals. I got my Mossy 500 at academy sports for an astonishingly low price of $139.00! I bought two at that price. It came w/ a 26" vent rib and was drilled and tapped for scopes. I then bought an 18 1/2" Barrel for $89 from Mossberg. My brother got an 870 police for $269.00, which seems to be the going price for the parkerized "police" model (w/ extension) |
