Saw and test fit the ACE skeleton stock (ARFX)at a show recently. Loved the looks and thought it improved the balance, finish was very good. The stock appears to be same length as the standard A2 or about 10-1/2" with 1/2" pad.

I contacted ACE and spoke with Bob Warim(?) about producing a custom length stock for me. I am 6'-5" with 36" sleeve, so all AR stocks are short to me.  Bob said a custom length was possible.

Now I am having second thoughts due to potential buffer problems (spring / buffer size).

Any thoughts on how this potential problems could be overcome?  I'd really like to get a longer stock for comfort, something 12-1/2" to 13" would be about right.

Might be simpler to cut and buff a black plastic spacer to fit between the butt plate and butt pad (pads, BTW come in 1/2" and 1" thicknesses) and obtain a longer buffer tube screw

I would think that they would not lengthen the distance the buffer would have to travel.  I bet they will leave that the same and modify the buffer or just lengthen the butt plate.  I'm sure they would be aware of problems that would arise with a longer buffer tube.
