Ok, I purchased some ammo in .223. It has a gray tip, 62 gr. states that it is match ammo for 1:7 twist barrel. Any help you can give me on this would be appreciated. thanks John

Easy.
This is match grade ammo which would best be fired from a .223 rifle with a 1:7 twist.

Sure,
From what I understand if it has a gray tip it is match ammo. If it is 62 gr it is probably for a barrel with a 1:7 twist.

No manufacture, no writing on the box, part #?

OK, here's the skinny on that ammo:
the .223 ammo with grey tip is 62gr., widely considered to be match ammo.
Also, you might want to consider that it was designed for 1:7 twist barrels.
Any more questions?

I suspect you'll find an IMI headstamp on it.

Ok, it is samco. I purchased it because the seller said that it was M855 ammo. My AR-15 is a 1:7 twist. So it should work fine. J

Samco is IMI. It should be in a blue and white box.
