| I have a Bushmaster Shorty AK with the standard A2 handguards.Are the Bushmaster M4 handguards double lined like Colt`s?If not are they at least better than the A2 handguards?Thanks |
| No double shields like the Colt. The shields have two rows of vent holes that do not line up with the vent holes of the handguards. Kinda weird looking because you cannot see into the gas tube area from the top but it does hold up much better then the cheapo standard shorty handguards. |
| You cant see into the gas tube area with Colt double heat shield handguards either. One thing to note, double heat shields are good to keep the heat off of your hands. But they are bad because the heat stays in the barrel area. Personally, I think the singe heat shield typ handguards with twice as many vent holes (like the Bushmaster) are actually a more functional design. |
