| Just curious but are the real M4s that the US Forces (God bless them!) use 14.5" or 16" barrels? Thanks in advance. |

Quoted: the info i am reading tells me both lengths are being deployed with our forces. i also read that colt manufacturing company has a sole-source production contract for all m4's until 2010. And just what is the source for the misinformation are you reading? They are ALL 14.5" and none are 16" |

Quoted: And just what is the source for the misinformation are you reading? They are ALL 14.5" and none are 16" I am sure that is true of regular units. However, I am sure special units have fielded 16" barrels to get the boost in range and velocity for longer than CQB ranges. However the regular military contract only calls for the 14.5" barrel. |

Quoted: Where would you find the full set of specs for an M-4? I wanna build an M-4 gery on a pre ban rifle I have now. I want to get it as close to current issue as I can. Thanks Q Buy a full auto Colt M4 upper and regular Colt M4 buttstock. Have the carrier turned to full circle AR15 specs by Kurt Wala. (I had him do this and he does excellent work) Use the H buffer in the stock. Pay for SBR and put a KAC flash hider on or attach a Vortex, Phantom, Gemtech Bilock, or KKF A3 flash hider to make the length 16" You can add a KAC RAS, KAC 300m rear sight and an old Aimpoint Comp M if you want to copy the newer railed versions or add a TA01NSN instead of the old style Aimpoint. The military M4 is less than ideal but this will get you as close as you can get to the real thing. |
